West Indies host Sri Lanka in the opening Test of a two-match series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, with important World Test Championship points at stake. The hosts are currently struggling near the bottom of the WTC 2025–27 table and are still chasing their first win of the cycle, so a home Test gives them a real chance to turn things around. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, come into this series in better form, having already picked up a win and a draw from their two Tests so far — a strong result in Antigua would push them further up the standings. The Antigua pitch is generally considered a good batting surface, so both top orders will be looking to make early use of it.
